Armand “Mondo” Duplantis stands at the pinnacle of his sport. The Swedish pole vaulter, who is the reigning World and Olympic champion, set a new world record on April 20th, clearing an astounding height of 6.24 meters – his eighth world record.
Omega introduces a special edition Seamaster Aqua Terra inspired by their brand ambassador to celebrate this extraordinary achievement. This 41 mm timepiece, crafted in the blue and yellow colours of the Swedish flag, features unique details that pay homage to Mondo’s athletic successes.
The watch is constructed from stainless steel and paired with an integrated blue rubber strap with yellow stitching and an Omega logo. The case's polished and brushed surfaces complement the strap's polished central links.
The dial offers a fresh take on the Aqua Terra's classic design. The blue surface, with its traditional opaline finish and horizontal stripes, includes special touches such as the Seamaster name and quarter-hour numbers in yellow. The central seconds hand, also in yellow, is shaped to evoke a pole vault and is coated with Super-LumiNova to represent the pole's grip.
Precision, a key element in Mondo’s career, is mirrored in the watch's Co-Axial Master Chronometer calibre, ensuring top-tier accuracy, performance, and magnetic resistance.
Since becoming an Omega ambassador in 2020, Armand Duplantis has won numerous World and European Championship titles and his first Olympic gold medal in Tokyo. His ongoing series of world records reflects his relentless dedication to his sport.
As the Official Timekeeper of the Diamond League, Omega was on hand at the meet in Xiamen, China, in April, proudly timing Mondo’s record-breaking 6.24-meter jump.
