Kristian Haagen have spent a large part of my life buying, collecting, studying and talking about watches. And the more I learn about them, the more fascinated I become by why we place such great value on something as irrational as a mechanical watch.

In this talk, I draw on my own passion for watches and take a closer look at what is happening in the watch industry right now. The major Swiss brands are facing new challenges, while small, independent watchmakers are gaining ground. But perhaps the most interesting question is an entirely different one:

What is it that actually makes a watch valuable – if we look beyond the price?
