Armin Strom Time GMT Resonance First Edition

To mark the 15th anniversary of its fully integrated Manufacture, Swiss independent watchmaker Armin Strom unveils a reimagined version of its most iconic innovation—the resonance complication—in the all-new Dual Time GMT Resonance First Edition.

Featuring a symmetrical design with dual time dials, this First Edition is housed in a refined 39-mm round case of 18-karat white gold. As with all Armin Strom First Editions, it comes with a 10-year extended warranty.

Armin Strom continues to showcase its expertise in ‘the science of movement’ with this meticulously crafted Dual Time Resonance timepiece, offering exceptional resistance to disruptions in the Resonance phenomenon.

The mesmerizing Resonance mechanism is fully visible on the dial side of this timepiece, showcasing the synchronized movement of two balance wheels in Resonance and the rhythmic motion of the clutch spring, which transmits vibrations between them. This captivating display offers a daily reminder of the intricate beauty of mechanical watchmaking.

A standout feature of this watch is its ability to set both time zones entirely independently. Unlike most dual time zone watches, which typically allow only independent hour adjustments, Armin Strom’s Dual Time GMT Resonance enables the hours and minutes to be set separately on each of the two dials.

The watch is powered by the newly developed Armin Strom caliber ARF22, a manually-wound Resonance movement. This 18th in-house caliber, designed under the guidance of Claude Greisler, co-founder and master watchmaker, features two independent oscillators that achieve synchronized motion through the natural phenomenon of Resonance. The movement includes two mainspring barrels that provide a 42-hour power reserve, all wound by a single crown at 4 o’clock. Independent gear trains drive the separate time displays, with day/night indicators on 24-hour wheels. The movement also features a unique winding system visible on the dial side, enhancing the tactile experience of winding the watch.

The Dual Time GMT Resonance First Edition boasts two symmetric sky-blue dials with a grenage finish, complemented by day/night indicators showing the sun and moon for each dial. Two crowns, positioned at 4 and 8 o’clock, allow for the independent setting of each time display, making this watch a true masterpiece of symmetrical design and mechanical innovation.
