DOXA x Clive Cussler

DOXA unveils the special edition ‘SUB 300T Sharkhunter Clive Cussler’,

in celebration of legendary author, maritime explorer and NUMA founder

Clive Cussler’s 93rd birthday.

Clive Cussler, born in Illinois on July 15, 1931, would have turned 93 in 2024. The prolific author, who wrote over 85 books, often featured the SUB’s iconic orange dial on the wrist of his hero, Dirk Pitt. Cussler was an adventurer and shipwreck hunter, founding NUMA (National Underwater and Marine Agency) in 1979. His novels, blending historical mysteries and epic adventures, inspire DOXA.

DOXA unveils the special edition SUB 300T Sharkhunter Clive Cussler to honour him. With an aged patina, this stainless steel watch echoes the first SUB 300T Cussler presented last year. Its black Sharkhunter dial features hours, minutes, seconds, and date, with striking white hands and indexes. The compass rose marking the four cardinal points adds a touch of adventure, reminding us of the hidden mysteries and treasures beneath the waves.

For Clive Cussler, the compass rose symbolized exploration and adventure, with each direction representing new possibilities. North stood for guidance and the pursuit of truth; the South evoked uncharted territories; the East signified new beginnings and curiosity; and the West represented the fulfilment of quests and discovering treasures.

The special edition SUB 300T Sharkhunter Clive Cussler features engravings of shipwrecks and historical artefacts discovered by NUMA on the case back, connecting it to maritime history and adventure.

This watch features a Swiss automatic movement with exclusive DOXA decorations. It operates at 28,800 vibrations/hour (4.0 Hz) and provides a 38-hour power reserve. It includes a date window at 3 o'clock, a screw-down crown, and is water resistant to 300 meters (984 feet).

It comes with an aged steel 'beads of rice' metal bracelet and a black FKM rubber strap with folding clasps and wetsuit extensions. Each watch is individually numbered (XX/93) inside the lugs. This 42.50 mm watch embodies exploration and adventure, with some sales supporting NUMA.
